Problems With TI-84 Plus
This expensive TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphing Calculator from Texas Instruments does not work with the expensive, bloated, buggy, accusatory, oppressive, unsafe Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System.
What joy I felt when observing my new calculator. Such deep appreciation I have for the complexity and power of this machine, even though as of now, I am unable to make use of this wonderful technology. I am reminded of a passage from my favorite book Lucifer’s Hammer by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle, where the Soviet cosmonaut was jealous of the way that the NASA astronaut could walk into any drugstore in the USA and buy an advanced calculator that was all but impossible for him to obtain in his brutal, failing, communist Soviet Union.
Nevertheless, it seems that my brand new expensive TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphing Calculator from Texas Instruments will not work with the expensive, bloated, buggy, accusatory, oppressive, unsafe Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Operating System that was released over a year ago.
I did a search on the education.ti.com website for the word Linux. Why does it not surprise me to see that there is not a single mention of this free and open source operating system? Why are “The Powers That Be” over at Texas Instruments unwilling (or perhaps just unable) to support the vast userbase of highly intelligent, freedom loving Linux users, some of which are college students?
It appears that I will be forced to buy yet another computer system in order to buy and then install the ancient, unstable, buggy, bloated, expensive and frequently compromised Microsoft Windows XP Operating System, which is soon to be discontinued anyway. It seems these billionaires need my money more than I do.
